Acquired: Signed by the Gamblers as a free agent in 1984

Pro Bio: Saw action for the Gamblers during the early part of the 1984 season before being traded to the Gunslingers... Caught four passes for 45 yards with the Gamblers, and also saw action on special teams, returning three kickoffs for 58 yards... With the '84 Gunslingers, Rush ran the ball 18 times for 34 yards and one touchdown, and caught five passes for 22 yards and one touchdown... First Gunslinger in team history to score two touchdowns in a game (vs. Washington, 5-20-84)... Converted to tight end by the Gunslingers for the 1985 season.

Originally drafted by the Minnesota Vikings in the fourth round of the 1983 NFL Draft.

College Bio: Lettered four years at Miami with Jim Kelly (1979-82)... Was Miami's biggest ball-carrying threat... In 1981 he led the team in all-purpose running for the second year in a row (824 yards in 1981, and 894 yards in 1980)... A threat as a runner, receiver, and kick returner... Held team strength record for sit-ups (88 in 80 seconds) and dips (45 in 30 seconds)... Has been likened to former Dolphins running back Jim Kiick... Has 4.6 speed in the 40... Ranks fifth on Miami's all-purpose yardage list with 2,915... Is school's second all-time kick returner with 1.066 yards... Ranks seventh on the school career scoring list with 104 points... Competed in the 1981 Peach Bowl, 1982 East-West Shrine Game and the 1982 Japan Bowl... Voted second-team All-South in 1982.
